Once you click buy, I’ll send you a message containing the address where you will ship your STVA.  Then, just remove the STVA and ship it to me.  Shipping will cost you about $8 if you use USPS Priority Mail small flat rate box.  Once delivered, your STVA is repaired,
tested, calibrated, packed with installation instructions and shipped.  Included in the price is Priority Mail return shipping with insurance.
This is a 2-3 day service to anywhere in the USA.  If you need it faster, we can work something out.

What you’ll ship is exactly what you see in the picture.  There’s a tamper resistant torx screw that holds the STPS in place.  Do not remove it.  The STPS is what tells the bike the orientation of the secondary valves.  Included in this service is the evaluation of this sensor’s function and re-calibration if needed.  When you receive your repaired STVA, just follow the detailed instructions in the box on how to properly reinstall your STVA.  No adjustments are needed!

What’s the shipping address?
A)  It’s only provided to buyers.  Once you purchase, I’ll send you a message with the address as well as a link to my site where I have removal instructions if you need them.

A)  See those really big bold red letters at the top of the listing?  What do they say?  Why am I even putting this in the FAQ?  If you didn’t read the listing, you’re not going to read this either.

My STVA was repaired by someone else before, but the problem is back.  Can you help me?
A)  I wish this wasn’t my #1 question.  In most cases the STVA can still be repaired, and I’ve seen some real hack jobs.  I just can’t know until I see it for myself.  It is possible to damage them beyond repair, and it’s not hard to do.  Luckily, I’ve been doing this long enough that I usually have the spare parts I need to complete the repair.

How hard is it to remove and reinstall?
A)  Very easy.  The only difficulty is removing the screws that secure the STVA to the throttle body.  There’s very little clearance to work and cause one of them to be at a strange angle.  I can provide you with some tips to overcome this.  But, I will tell you all right now, use masking tape on the frame near the STVA prior to removal.  You don’t want your screwdriver messing up the finish!

I have a different model bike, will this fix work?
A)  Possibly.  The 04/05 is the only model with this design flaw.  C28 on other models is typically not caused by the STVA.  Let me know what bike you’re working on and I’ll help you sort that question out.  I can say for certain, if your STVA says Keihin on it, this service is not for you.

Do you guarantee your work?
A)  Yes.  If you send me an STVA that has not been tampered with and I can’t fix it (this has never happened!), or one that doesn’t need repair, I’ll refund your money and send it back to you.  I will also give you all the information you need to diagnose your specific problem.

I’m local, can I just come to you?
A)  Sure.  I’ll be happy to remove, repair, and install your STVA.  Just please don’t expect to watch and have me explain everything to you.  I’ll give you a chair and a bottle of water while you wait.  You’ll need to schedule this with me.

How long does it take?
A)  I had a job change at the start of 2020 which requires me to travel.  Timing of the repair in return depends on my primary work schedule.  You unit my be in and out in 24 hours, or it could sit on the bench for 2 weeks.  I encourage everyone to contact me for a return estimate.

This is my only mode of transportation, can I overnight it to you and have you overnight it back.
A)  Sure.  You just need to pay the additional shipping costs, but you really don’t need to.  The bike can still be ridden without the STVA installed.  If you’re interested in doing this, let me know and I can send you some instructions.
